Healing Begins with Allah

What if Prophetic medicine is not merely a collection of remedies-but a complete Islamic approach to healing the body, strengthening the heart, and nourishing the soul?

In an age of conflicting health advice, exaggerated promises, and spiritual confusion, Healing Begins with Allah offers a balanced and responsible introduction to the Islamic worldview of health and healing.

Rooted in the Qur'an, the authentic Sunnah, and the beneficial insights of Imām Ibn al-Qayyim's al-Ṭibb al-Nabawī, this book explains a foundational truth:

Medicine may be in the hand, but healing is granted only by Allah.

Rather than presenting honey, black seed, cupping, ruqyah, and other Prophetic remedies as isolated cures, this book places them within the broader framework of tawḥīd, tawakkul, moderation, prevention, lawful treatment, emotional resilience, and responsible medical care.

Inside this book, readers will discover:

What Prophetic medicine truly means-and what it does not mean
Why trusting Allah and seeking medical treatment are not opposites
How Islam addresses the health of the body, heart, and soul together
The three foundations of medicine: preserving health, avoiding harm, and removing illness
The Qur'an, duʿā', dhikr, and lawful ruqyah as sources of spiritual healing
Prophetic guidance concerning food, moderation, sleep, movement, and cleanliness
A balanced introduction to honey, black seed, dates, olive oil, talbīnah, Zamzam, and other remedies
The proper understanding of cupping, cautery, plague prevention, and community responsibility
How families can build healthier spiritual and physical habits together
How to recognize exaggeration, superstition, commercial exploitation, and unsafe health claims

The book also includes:

Practical steps after every major section
Key takeaways for personal reflection
An eight-week family wellness plan
Review questions and study-circle prompts
A glossary of important Islamic health terms
A final checklist for making balanced and responsible treatment decisions

Written for individuals, families, Islamic schools, study circles, teachers, and community leaders, this introductory volume presents Prophetic medicine with reverence for revelation, compassion for the patient, and respect for qualified medical expertise.

It does not encourage readers to abandon physicians, prescriptions, counseling, or emergency care. Instead, it teaches Muslims how to use lawful means while keeping their hearts attached to the One who created every means and controls every outcome.
