Food safety constitutes a major challenge for agri-food companies in the face of regulatory requirements and growing consumer expectations. The ISO 22000:2018 standard provides an international framework for the implementation of a food safety management system aimed at guaranteeing the production of safe food throughout the production chain. The work aims to evaluate the impact of implementing this system on the improvement of food hygiene and on organizational performance. The analysis is based on the study of the level of application of the standard's requirements, as well as on the examination of internal and external audit results and customer complaints over several years. The results show a progressive decrease in non-conformities detected during audits as well as a reduction in customer complaints, reflecting an improvement in compliance and process control. Furthermore, the comparison of microbiological analysis results of the products before and after certification reveals a notable decrease in microbial load, confirming the improvement.
