This is the first book in the field of Sound Healing to give such a wide perspective on everything in the field. It covers the full range of how sound affects us physically, mentally, emotionally and Spiritually.
It explores the known science and ancient wisdom. The book begins with a detailed explanation of how sound works based on specific laws of physics. When you understand how it works, you and your clients believe in it more - and belief is a huge part of the effectiveness of a treatment. This is also necessary to bring sound more into the mainstream. Sound Healing is currently in Alternative Therapy Centers of hospitals around the world and is now on the threshold of making it into the medical side. Meanwhile, there are many esoteric techniques that are incredibly powerful; many of which we have yet to understand the mechanisms of how they work (Spirit has not given us the full manual yet). Therefore, we include these ancient techniques as well.
In the book, David introduces a hierarchy of vibration that is the basis of vibration at all levels of reality: Frequencies, Timbres (combination of frequencies), Intervals and Musical Flows. This has now become the basis of how to understand the full perspective of how vibration works (including sound, color, light, geometry and the quantum world). The book also uses this framework to understand how healing works in the body.
The book covers how to play the most common sound healing instruments and how to use them for specific physical, mental and emotional issues. David goes into detail on how to create and perform both sound healing treatments and sound baths (concerts). He also explains a detailed process for doing healing with the voice and with instruments.
The book covers the latest science on how sound works on the physical body, as well as how to understand and work with emotions including a number of techniques for releasing stuck emotions and transforming negative beliefs. The book also explains brainwave entrainment in detail and how you can use rhythms tuned to a person in order to entrain them into Delta (sleep), Theta (creativity and Oneness), Alpha (for presence and learning), Beta (thinking and overcoming ADD/ADHD) and Gamma (for blissing out). It also explains the latest research on using ultrasound to access Unity Consciousness in a clinical setting.
The section on Sound for Specific Issues covers treatments for Stress Reduction, Sleep, Pain, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Anger, Trauma/PTSD, Addiction, Autism, Dementia, Parkinson's, Schizophrenia, Traumatic Brain Injuries and Cancer.
The section on Spiritual Expansion covers sound for Presence, Mindfulness, Chakras, Auras and Love. It also covers the Sound of your Soul and Oneness, which is where you are all frequencies in the Universe.
