The book based on thesis by Sekimonyo Shamavu Christian for an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at King of Kings University College (affiliated with Heritage Baptist College and the University of America) examines SEP CONGO's storage depot at Goma Airport from 2019-2022. Airports are vital logistics hubs; the depot showed recurring issues-inventory discrepancies, longer processing times, spatial congestion, inconsistent procedures, limited equipment, weak IT and poor stakeholder coordination-impacting lead times, stock accuracy, costs and service quality. Using mixed methods (document review, interviews, observations, Ishikawa, 5 Whys, SWOT), data analysis and simulations, the study identifies root causes (no WMS, absent SOPs, training gaps, limited capacity, weak coordination) and proposes a phased plan: short-term SOPs, slotting, cycle counting, SKU master, training and reorganization; medium-term equipment and skills upgrades; long-term modular WMS, system interfacing and governance. Simulations predict cost, lead-time and accuracy gains if KPIs, governance and funding are secured; further multivariate analyses are recommended.
