This book is a study that begins by presenting general considerations on the subject. Here, we have drawn on data that explain the Albertine Rift in general; among other things, we can mention the subdivision of the Albertine Rift into two branches: the eastern branch and the western branch. It should be noted that the branch of interest to us is the western branch, simply because it aligns with our research topic. This branch consists of lakes, forests, parks, and more, but we have limited our focus to the Albertine Graben, which also includes lakes such as Albert, Edward, and Kivu, as well as Virunga National Park.We then discussed the geology of the Albertine Graben, which reveals the oil-bearing area subdivided into blocks such as Blocks I, II, III, IV, and V. However, what interested us most were Blocks III, IV, and V, which are part of our research area-the province of North Kivu.In addition, we discussed the methodology (scientific research methods and geophysical and geochemical techniques) and the EES, EIE, PAR, FFOM, PESTEL, and RES models.
