Understanding Hemiplegic and Paraplegic Patients

Hemiplegic and paraplegic patients will have weakness on one side of their bodies, either left or right, or weakness on the upper or lower parts of their bodies. This is due to the deterioration of the brain or spinal cord. The causes can be accidents, head injuries, or spinal cord injuries.

When patients are discharged from hospitals after receiving medical treatment, they will go through a rehabilitation process that aims to restore their physical functions. This process will involve physical therapists or other multidisciplinary professionals.

Importantly, the patients families must understand, accept, and see what remains. Everything can be restored with the right methods. Motivation is crucial, not only from the patients themselves, but also from their families or loved ones.

This book is a culmination of over 10 years of experience in physical rehabilitation for patients with neurological and spinal cord disorders. It is also a compilation of ideas from over 500 self-improvement books. I have adapted these methods for use in the rehabilitation process, and they have been successful, bringing happiness to my-self, the patients, and their families, with over 200 cases.
