Born in Akwatia, Ghana, and raised in a one-room house in Osogbo, Nigeria, Benjamin Ajibade defied his father's limitations, funded his own education by repairing shoes, and built a career spanning four decades that would take him from hawking food on the streets at 4.30am to a professorship at Northumbria University.
