Facts Of Life According To The Word Volume 1 applies an autobiographical approach to an investigation of the link between the modern individual and certain Christian principles. It juxtaposes scriptural interpretation with a personal narrative centering on incidents from the authors' life in an effort to portray a viable role for faith in an often confusing contemporary social and political landscape. It opens describing an incident in Las Vegas when the author and her husband were in a rather desperate state as a result of his being out of work. An encounter with a woman named Jeannette lead her away from Buddhism towards Christianity, a change that also contributed to her decision to record her thoughts. It introduces the Creator of all; Our Father God in detail, describing his tri-persona, the importance of salvation, and faith without doubt. The motivation is to promote the adoption of a higher power as a part of an overall path grounded on a sense of healing and renewal.
