Drawing on decades of clinical experience as an orthopaedic surgeon and academic, Prof. George Zafiropoulos examines how healthcare systems, businesses, governments, and institutions have evolved into sophisticated repair systems that intervene only after people have been harmed. He argues that the true challenge of the twenty-first century is not building better repair methods but redesigning the environments in which people live and work so that damage occurs far less often.
The book integrates medicine, biology, organisational science, psychology, economics, and philosophy to present a new framework focused on Human Sustainability.
