No one plans for cancer.
And no one plans for what comes after.
In When Life Gives You Lima Beans...Make Soup the author invites readers into a deeply personal journey that began with an unexpected diagnosis that unfolded along a road she never intended to travel. Through faith, grit, honesty, and grace, she shares what it means to navigate breast cancer, not just through treatment, but through survivorship, maintenance, and the quiet work of healing that continues long after the bell rings.
This is not a story of quick fixes or perfect endings. It is a story of detours, decisions, and choosing life anyway, while living in the space between faith and medicine, healing and vigilance, gratitude and fear.
With raw transparency, the author explores:
The shock of diagnosis and the emotional weight of telling family
Surgery, radiation, and the physical toll treatment leaves behind
Long-term maintenance and what survivorship really looks like
Fear of recurrence, scans, and the what ifs no one prepares you for
Faith that holds steady even when certainty is out of reach
Learning to set boundaries, protect peace, and live intentionally
Written for survivors, caregivers, and anyone walking beside them, this book offers truth without fear, faith without denial, and permission to honor the journey exactly as it is.
If you've ever found yourself on a road you didn't choose-
this book reminds you that healing is still possible, purpose still matters, and choosing life is always an option.
