UNHUMANISATION From the Ape Within to the Peace Beyond
Why do intelligent people become angry over trivial matters?
Why do jealousy, greed, fear, insecurity, and conflict continue to dominate human life despite unprecedented technological progress?
We have built advanced civilizations, created artificial intelligence, and connected the world through technology. Yet stress, unhappiness, division, and conflict remain constant companions.
In Unhumanisation, Deepak Parikh presents a bold and thought-provoking perspective on the root cause of human suffering. He argues that many of our daily struggles arise from ancient survival instincts inherited from our evolutionary past.
For millions of years, our ancestors lived in a world of predators, scarcity, and tribal competition. To survive, they evolved traits such as fear, aggression, greed, jealousy, domination, and insecurity. These traits were essential for survival in the jungle.
Today, however, the jungle is gone.
Yet the same instincts continue to shape our thoughts, emotions, relationships, workplaces, societies, and even nations.
The result is a world filled with unnecessary conflict, stress, resentment, and dissatisfaction.
This book introduces a transformative framework called (Un)humanisation-a practical process for recognizing, understanding, and transcending the negative behavioural patterns inherited from our evolutionary history.
The book takes readers through four stages of discovery:
- Understanding humanity's evolutionary journey and the origins of our primitive instincts.
- Identifying fifty common negativities-including fear, anger, jealousy, greed, insecurity, domination, gossip, selfishness, and anxiety-and recognizing how they operate in everyday life.
- Learning a three-step transformation process:
- Awareness
- Acceptance
- Transformation
- Exploring how personal transformation can lead to greater happiness, healthier relationships, inner peace, and ultimately a more harmonious society.
Unlike many self-help books that focus on motivation or positive thinking, Unhumanisation offers a deeper perspective. It suggests that many of our struggles are not personal failures but inherited evolutionary tendencies. By understanding their origins, we can stop fighting ourselves and begin transforming ourselves.
This book is for anyone interested in psychology, personal growth, human behaviour, leadership, relationships, and conscious living.
Provocative, insightful, and deeply reflective, Unhumanisation challenges readers to look within and confront a simple but powerful question:
If many of our negative behaviours are remnants of an ancient survival system, is it possible to move beyond them?
This book invites you to begin that journey-from inherited negativity to conscious positivity, from conflict to peace, and from the ape within to the human potential beyond.
The question is not whether the ape within exists. The question is whether you are ready to transcend it.
