The book Turning Points illustrates why learning how to overcome disappointment and adversity is one of the most important lessons in life. It relates how the author ignored the paths of least resistance and chose the less travelled paths that took him beyond his wildest dreams. It describes the problems and rewards of working in international business. And it tells what the Human Resource departments don't: why experience is a false glass ceiling and how to recognize opportunity. Turning Points explains why the author was a Creator Builder and/or Business Surgeon and not a Business Caretaker. It concludes with the two most important turning points in the author's life: surviving an elite navy officer training program in World War II, and meeting Grace, his lovely wife of 64 years.
About the Author: Carroll V. Kroeger, 85, of Franklin, Tennessee, is a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He is a Rice University NROTC graduate, and holds a BA in math and physics, and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. Having achieved a global reputation in natural gas engineering, he helped bring about an expansion of the natural gas industries of Western Europe, New Zealand, and Australia. He developed some of America's first energy conservation programs. Kroeger was a tenured associate professor of business at Belmont University, and took the Nashville Business Incubation Center at Tennessee State University from concept to international recognition.
