This is the story of a solo journey by van - from Japan, across Siberia, and into the heart of Europe - made without a script, a set list, or a fixed destination. Along the way, the author performs wherever the road allows: on open steppes, in city squares, inside old churches, wherever the sound feels right. He calls this practice Zen Drumming - music made not from planning, but from listening.
Part travel memoir, part musical odyssey, part meditation on how to live, this book follows a journey shaped by instinct rather than itinerary. Encounters with strangers and fellow musicians, the vastness of the Siberian landscape, sudden loss, and long stretches of solitude slowly strip away what isn't needed - until what remains is quieter, simpler, and more truly alive.
A special appendix takes a different kind of journey: into the physics of sound itself - vibration, resonance, frequency - offering a way to see music not only as art, but as energy and presence.
