Simply Sweetened was created from a simple belief: you shouldn't have to give up the joy of dessert to be intentional about what you feed your family. I never wanted my kids to miss out on the simple pleasures of childhood cookies and milk, homemade treats, or something cold and sweet on a hot summer day. Those little moments become some of our favorite memories. But as a mom, I also care deeply about the ingredients I bring into my home and serve to the people I love.
Enter Simply Sweetened.
I believe baking from scratch matters, not because dessert is bad, but because you get to choose what goes into it. And as a busy mom, I know that a recipe can be delicious and wholesome, but if it takes hours and requires a trip to the grocery store for ten ingredients you've never heard of, it probably isn't making it into my kitchen.
That's why these recipes are simple, practical, and made for real life. They use everyday ingredients you likely already have in your pantry, come together quickly, and are easy enough to whip up whenever the craving, or the kids, strikes.
Along the way, I've made thoughtful ingredient swaps where they make sense, without sacrificing the flavor, texture, or indulgence that makes dessert worth eating. Because dessert should still be fun.
I hope these recipes find a place in your kitchen, become part of your family's favorite memories, and remind you that you don't have to choose between sweet and simple, delicious and thoughtful, or dessert and the way you want to feed your family. You can have your cookie, and feel good about baking it, too.
