You might think people judge you only on the big things-your job, your achievements, your wealth-but long before they know any of that, they've already decided something about you based on how you look, move, and carry yourself.
I call these elements the Seven Factors of Looking Good: hairstyle, posture, body figure, skin, clothing, DNA, and mentality. Each one is a weapon in your style arsenal, and just like a skilled warrior, you can't rely on a single weapon to win every battle. You must know when and how to use each, and most importantly, how to balance them.
When I was younger, I didn't understand this. I thought looking good was luck-something you were either born with or not. My older brother was the natural good-looking one, and I was the ugly duckling. But instead of accepting that role, I treated style like martial arts. Just as a Kung Fu master learns dozens of stances to combine into a unique fighting style, I set out to master every stance of personal presentation.
Over decades in the hair and beauty industry, working in Hong Kong, New York, and beyond, I've seen how mastering these seven factors changes everything. I've worked with CEOs who used their presence to command a room without speaking, with brides who learned to glow even when their wedding plans went sideways, and with celebrities who could reinvent themselves at will-simply by adjusting one factor at the right time.
But Style Wars is not just about looking good-it's about living well. Because style isn't skin-deep; it's built from your mindset, your daily routines, and the environment you create for yourself. That's why mentality-the commander of all style-takes the largest share in my formula. Without it, the other six factors collapse.
In this book, I'll walk you through each factor, showing you how to upgrade it, how to integrate it with the others, and how to maintain it no matter your age, job, or budget. You'll see how sports psychology, cultural insights, and even street-level superstitions can shape your style decisions. You'll also learn how to protect your image from the generational conveyor belt, where younger, faster competitors are always catching up.
By the time you finish, you won't just have a better haircut, wardrobe, or posture-you'll have a system. A repeatable, sustainable way to present yourself at your absolute best every single day.
