In Algeria, the nematode of stems and bulbs causes serious economic damage; However, no studies have been conducted to accurately identify species and breeds of nematodes infecting Fababeans fields, making management strategies, quarantine measures and phytosanitary actions less effective. The present study describes the morphological and molecular analyses of two nematode populations. The results confirmed the presence of D. gigas and revealed the existence of a new species D. Oncogenus for the first time on Vicia Faba as a new host plant. The morphology of the two populations is consistent with that of the previous populations of D. gigas and D. Oncogenus of southern Italy. The molecular phylogeny associated with the use of the ITS-5.8 s-ITS2 region clearly confirms the presence of D. gigas and D. Oncogenus in Algeria.
