Pim, The Rock Who Became a Star, is a book for kids about change, grief and big emotions. It is the story of a rock who is unexpectedly torn away from his family and tossed around by the waves of life.
He experiences big emotions as he tumbles through the waves of change and grief. Feeling lost, sad, scared and angry Pim wonders whether life will ever be normal and good again. It is a story that will resonate with people of all ages who have felt their world collapse, lost their centre of balance and felt overwhelmed by big emotions.
Pim's story provides a point of hope in an emotional landscape that feels foreign and scary. His journey will appeal to children of all ages, as well as the child within the adult.
Dr Elzette Fritz is a renowned Educational Psychologist who felt driven to write this story in the wake of the trauma and psychological devastation which the Covid-19 pandemic wrought on children and adults alike. It is her hope that Pim's story can be used as a therapeutic tool to help soften the pain and grief of those who have experienced unexpected change, upheaval and loss.
Pim's story is ultimately one of hope and resilience, a love letter to those being tossed by the waves of life with the message that this too will eventually end.
