Through my 40 years plus, I have tried every possibility to deal with PTSD. My list is long and never ending: Suicide - reading - writing - group counseling - one on one counseling - medication listen to music - puzzles - crossword - card games - some television - avoiding crowds - no cell phone - some restaurant dining - avoiding conversations having to do with war - no church - no walking - no football games - or any games with crowds - I vote absentee ballot - no parties - no dancing - accpuncture - breathing exercises - meditation - session on PTSD. Hypnosis - counting to ten - exercising - smoking - no unprescripted drugs - no alcohol - gun to protect my home - etc. As a result of PTSD: I lost six months with my daughter and wife, had nervous breakdown - lost promotions in the Postal Service due to headaches and sick leave usage - lost my managers job in the Meat Department - supervisory position - had to leave driving the school bus - couldn't deal with inside jobs at factories. PTSD damages and controls your life as well as your family. There is no cure, as yet, for PTSD. You live the hand you are deal and pray to God for help because there is no end to PTSD.
