The use of high quality seeds is extremely important as it prevents the spread of pathogens and the introduction of diseases into areas where they do not exist. Considering the importance of the maize crop for Paraíba, maize (Zea mays L.) seed collections were carried out during the 2007 and 2008 planting seasons in producing areas in municipalities in the micro-regions of Paraíba. ) were collected from producing areas in municipalities in the micro-regions of Guarabira (Guarabira, Alagoinha and Mulungu), Brejo (Alagoa Grande and Areia) and Itabaiana (Itabaiana and Gurinhém), in order to determine the mycoflora, using moistened filter paper as the incubation method.
