This workbook helps readers look beneath behavior and begin to examine the wounds, thoughts, habits, environments, and false labels that shaped their lives. Instead of only asking, What did I do? this workbook gently leads readers to ask deeper questions: What happened to me? What have I believed about myself? What pain have I been carrying? What patterns do I keep repeating? What choices must I make now to stay free?
Through easy-to-read teaching, guided reflection, writing exercises, and practical healing assignments, Healing the Incarcerated Mind helps readers confront trauma, identify emotional triggers, rebuild identity, renew the mind, take responsibility, and begin developing a healthier way of thinking and living.
This workbook is compassionate, but it is also honest. It does not excuse harmful choices, crime, addiction, violence, or repeated cycles. Instead, it teaches that healing and accountability must work together. Readers are encouraged to face the truth, own their decisions, release false identity, and begin making choices that support lasting freedom.
Designed for prison programs, jail intake programs, reentry programs, recovery groups, halfway houses, transitional housing programs, mentoring groups, prison ministry, chaplaincy support, counseling settings, and faith-based organizations, this workbook can be used individually, in small groups, with a mentor, or as part of a structured healing and reentry curriculum.
Freedom is more than leaving a cell. Freedom begins when the mind is healed, the heart is restored, and the identity is rebuilt.
