Success is not a magical event born out of luck or circumstance. Nor is it reserved solely for the most driven or intellectual of people. Rather, consistent success can be thought of as more of a science, with a fundamental set of skills and habits that, when applied persistently, nurtures an environment in which success can grow naturally. I term these skills the Foundations of Success.
You can't build a great building on weak foundations. Similarly, you can't build a successful future on weak habits. To build a bigger and better future, as we would a skyscraper or a bridge, we must first seek to strengthen these fundamental competencies upon which success can grow. We do this by addressing the largest cracks in our foundation; those which restrict our growth the most. With each crack fixed, and our foundations strengthened, opportunities can be better seized.
This book outlines the most common cracks in a person's foundation, focusing predominantly on self-improvement, productivity, social skills, health, and finance; areas in which all five are essential in creating a rock-solid foundation.
But results are determined not just by reading but by actions. That is why this book takes a different approach to most by focusing on practical tools and advice. This book contains links to free downloads and practical tools derived from my extensive career in construction management, which will cement these essential principles into your daily routine through repetition. This book is not a read it and forget it type; instead, it is more of an instruction manual. Only through consistent application of these practical tools will you achieve long-term change.
Failure most often occurs because we are unprepared to endure what is required to achieve great feats. So before building the world's tallest tower, take the time to first fix your cracks and ensure your foundation is solid enough to support your goals. Failure is almost guaranteed otherwise.
