The study revealed that Togo has significant potential for rice production. However, it should be noted that, apart from a few rice producers, most rice farmers have absolutely no access to research-based innovations. Technology adoption is also very low; farmers rely on their own resources. The study indicates that several technologies have been introduced to improve the productivity of Togolese rice farming. However, not all technologies have been adopted, and rice farming productivity remains low. The study also revealed that the constraints on the adoption of these technologies are primarily economic (lack of financial resources, high labor costs), social (unavailability of labor, reliance on family labor, heavy workload on the few active farmers), and institutional (only a few NGOs are active in the sector).
