Born Thrive - Programmed to Struggle
Little by little, we learn what is normal. We learn what is acceptable. We learn what is frightening. We learn what makes people angry. We learn what earns approval. We learn which questions receive an answer and which questions make the room uncomfortable. And eventually something extraordinary happens. We begin policing ourselves. Nobody has to tell us what to think because we have learned what kinds of thoughts are permitted. That may be one of the most sophisticated forms of control imaginable. There is hope, freedom is in your hands... Read on and discover.

We are born into a world already filled with instructions. Before we can speak, we are being taught what to value, what to fear, what to desire, what success looks like, what failure means, and even who we are supposed to become. Much of this happens so gradually that we rarely recognize it as programming. We simply call it life. We inherit assumptions and then defend them as though we created them ourselves. We absorb patterns until they become identity. But there comes a moment when something inside us begins to ask a disturbing question: What if some of what I have accepted as reality is only a pattern I was taught to repeat?

That question opens the door to awareness. A thought appears, an impulse rises, an emotion demands action-and we instinctively move with it. But what happens if, for one moment, we step back? What happens if we observe the thought instead of obeying it? What happens if we recognize the impulse before it becomes behavior? This is where freedom begins. Scripture tells us, Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10). Stillness is not inactivity. It is the interruption of automatic behavior. It creates a space in which we can see what is happening inside us and ask the questions that the noise of the world keeps us from asking.

The great struggle is not simply between one group of people and another, or between competing ideologies. The deeper struggle is over attention, perception, conscience, and choice. Every day we encounter thousands of messages competing to tell us what matters and how we should respond. Some are useful. Some are destructive. Some are true. Some are mistaken. And some become so familiar through repetition that we stop examining them altogether. Jesus said, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). Freedom, then, begins with knowing-and knowing begins with the courage to question. Not every thought deserves obedience. Not every impulse deserves action. Not every voice deserves authority.

So this is an invitation to step back. Detect and deflect. Notice the thought before it becomes the action. Notice the pressure before it becomes conformity. Notice the fear before it becomes your decision. Notice the desire before it becomes your master. You do not have to believe everything you think, and you do not have to become everything the world tells you to become. There is a deeper identity beneath the accumulated programming, and there is a deeper purpose beneath the noise. The question is not merely whether you are awake. The question is what you are awakening to. And once you begin asking that question honestly, the journey inward becomes a journey toward God, truth, freedom, and the discovery of who you were created to be.
