What happens when you lose yourself in motherhood? And how do you find your way back?
Standing in front of the mirror, unable to even pick up a comb to do her own hair, a retired hairstylist realizes the devastating truth: she's completely gone. Lost in the roles of mother, wife, and employee, she can't remember the last time she felt like herself-or even knew who herself was anymore.
First Name Not Mom: The Rebirth Guide Back to You is the raw, honest story of one woman's journey from complete burnout to reclaiming her identity beyond motherhood. This isn't another self-care Sunday guide filled with bubble bath advice. This is the real, messy truth about what it takes to find yourself again when you've given everything away.
In this guided memoir, you'll discover:
- The moment everything shifted-from a solo trip to Iceland to standing in a dressing room shocked by a size 8
- How 30 minutes in the morning changed everything (and why it almost didn't happen)
- The guilt that tries to win every time you choose yourself-and how to move forward anyway
- Why getting dressed and doing your hair matters more than you think
- What happens when you reconnect with your body, your creativity, your faith, and your partnership
- The difference between who you were and who you are NOW (and why that matters)
Each chapter combines personal story with practical guidance-reflection questions, actionable steps, and permission to become yourself again without apology.
This book is for you if:
- You can't remember the last time you did something just for you
- You feel like a roommate in your own marriage
- You're tired all the time but can't remember why
- You look in the mirror and don't recognize yourself
- You know you're more than just Mom but can't remember how to access that person
The rebirth isn't about getting back to who you were before kids. It's about discovering who you are NOW-after everything you've been through. It's about learning that you can be a devoted mother AND a whole person. That choosing yourself doesn't make you selfish. That you're not alone in this struggle.
Your rebirth story starts here.
First Name Not Mom is Book 1 in the three-book series chronicling the journey from burnout to becoming. If you're ready to stop just surviving and start reclaiming yourself, this book is your roadmap back to you.
