Like other publications by Wang Shaoqiang, the book features the latest designs from design studios across the world to which the author has access as editor of the prestigious Design 360 magazine. While most books about product design are structured like a textbook and explain how to design or deconstruct designs to better understand the processes involved, almost none provide a comprehensive overview of current design trends, instead offering a summary of modernist design history or the best designs from 1945 until the present. New Product Design is an exception to the rule. Through a wide range of stylistically and aesthetically bold designs, the book emphasizes the essential interaction between humans and objects.
