This book recounts a series of journeys and episodes shared with an extraordinary traditional Tibetan master, the Venerable Lama Giang Ciub (1926-2022), who was born and spent part of his life in Tibet.
From the very beginning of his time in Italy in 1982, his freedom from all forms of conditioning and his boundless compassion for all sentient beings were evident. He had been sent to Italy by the Venerable Kalu Rinpoche to make it possible for those who wished to practise and study Buddhism. He remained in Italy for twenty years as resident lama of the Milarepa Centre, a Vajrayāna Buddhist centre.
From the very beginning of his time in Italy in 1982, his freedom from all forms of conditioning and his boundless compassion for all sentient beings were evident. Above all, The venerable Lama Giang Ciub taught how to cultivate an altruistic mind, giving rise to genuine goodness for oneself and for others, and thereby making life richer in meaning.
Written for everyone, this book seeks to preserve the memory and bring to life once again the wisdom and spirit of a great yet humble Tibetan lama, whose life unfolded during a remarkable historical period of profound and unprecedented change and transformation.
