My dad died suddenly when I was in my early twenties, and I lost touch with my mom shortly after. This book is the culmination of that first year without them- in all of its messy, wild grief. The 'chapters' focus on different areas of my life that these losses touched: lineage and what it is like to have and not have parents, anger at the person who took my dad away, relationships and loneliness, and starting to look forward again. Of course, loss touches everything. Of course, we must Wander On.

I published Wandering On first in August of 2015, on the anniversary of my dad's death. I brought it back in 2023 because messy, wild grief is everywhere. I hope that if you have lost someone you love, these poems feel like 'someone understands'. I hope that if you haven't, these poems encourage you to hold tight to those you love.
