Uncertainty in the correct description of the spatial variability of rainfall is often termed as the major source of error in investigations of rainfall-runoff processes and modeling. The Book covered the impact of spatial aggregation of rainfall on catchment flood responses. It compares the lumped with space -time variable rainfall data by using 'Kinematic Local Excess Model' using high resolution radar rainfall field. In order to clarify the characteristics of the spatial organisation, this research exploit the concept of Spatial Moments of Catchment Rainfall (SMCR), which provide a description of overall spatial rainfall organisation as a function of the rainfall field value at a given position and of the flow distance between that position and the catchment outlet measured along the river network. It also shows the impact of parameterizations of the model input on flood response in terms of flood simulation, routing time and spatial variability. The book is recommended for researchers in Hydrology. These can be hydrologists, geographers, and geologists; it shows them how space- time variable rainfall affects flood response modeling and simulation.
