There was a time when I felt like no one understood what I was going through. I've been through some very hard times, and I know what it's like to struggle with thoughts of giving up because I've lived through those moments myself. That's one of the biggest reasons I wrote this book. I want people who are hurting to know they are not alone and hope is still possible, even during the darkest and loneliest times of their lives.

In Pain to Hope, I share parts of my own experiences, along with what I've learned through years of learning about suicide prevention and mental health. If you are hurting, if you are helping someone who is, or if you just want to understand about suicide prevention, this book is written for you.

This book is written in different ways. Sometimes I tell my own story. Sometimes I'm speaking to someone who may be struggling. Other times, I'm explaining suicide prevention in simple words so people can understand it, know what someone may be going through, and learn ways they can help. I wrote it this way because I wanted this book to help as many people as possible.

I'm not a doctor or mental health professional, and this isn't medical advice. If you need help, I encourage you to reach out to a medical or mental health professional. If that's not possible, talk to someone you trust, like a family member, a friend, or a teacher. If you feel like you're in crisis or need immediate support, you can always call or text 988 to connect with the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
