The study on sex education within the family is being conducted to understand the dynamics of communication between parents and adolescents on the subject of sexuality. The sample comprises 12 participants divided into three groups, each comprising two categories. These participants took part individually in a semi-structured interview in the municipalities of Marcory and Treichville (Abidjan). The results show, on the one hand, that parents convey messages about sexual practices in specific settings (bedroom, living room, garden, terrace, beach) using various aids (games, films, images in a magazine or through observation). Furthermore, socio-cultural and religious values, a lack of time and factors specific to the parent's personality act as barriers to parental communication on sex education.
