Out of the Blue is the harrowing true story of one woman's journey to be heard. At a young age, Samantha Killary was introduced to a world no child should ever know. Sexual assault, physical violence, and psychological grooming altered her path forever distorting her perceptions of love, lust, and legitimacy and it was all done at the hands of one of Louisville Metro Police Department's most trusted officers. Throughout her sorted journey, Samantha fell victim to the familiar cycles of drug addiction, promiscuity, abusive relationships, even teetering on the edge of the sex trade. But she is a victim no longer. Her abuser's current status as an inmate in one of Kentucky's most infamous prisons is a testament to that. Bringing her truth to light did not come without a cost. She is now isolated from a family she loves and community that failed her on every level. This is a story of hope, heartache, and the courage to speak out and like all tales of survival, it is one that deserves to be heard.
