The Library That Moves SHORT SUMMARY: The Library That Moves Jacob is a 15-year-old boy spending his holiday at his grandfather's house. He feels stressed because of school, tests, and the feeling that everyone else understands their future while he doesn't. His grandfather seems calm and steady, always working on trivial things like fixing a chair. Jacob wishes he could feel that same peace. One day, Jacob climbs into the attic. The attic is quiet and dusty, and it smells like old wood and dried paper. A small round window lets in a thin beam of sunlight, making the attic feel like a dream. Jacob is not sure what he is looking for-maybe old games or photos-but he hopes to find something that will distract him. As Jacob searches, he finds an old wooden trunk hidden under blankets. The trunk looks incredibly old, with scratches from many years. Inside, something is wrapped in faded cloth and tied tightly with a leather string. The knot is strong, like someone wanted to keep it closed until the right time. Jacob hesitates, but curiosity wins. He slowly unties the string and opens the cloth.
Inside is a diary. The diary is thick and worn. The cover is cracked at the corners, and the pages are yellow like dried leaves. The ink is still dark, and the handwriting is neat but rushed, as if the writer had little time. On the first page, Jacob sees a name written clearly: Elias Vane.
