A Co-ordinated Research Project was initiated in 1994 focusing on developing mutagenesis approaches for selected oilseeds and fibre plants, screening procedures for agricultural and industrial requirements and suitable genotypes of traditional industrial crops adapted to new areas and for new needs.

An example of the results obtained were novel oil types developed in cuphea with potential use as a renewable, economical and safe energy source.

This publication summarizes the results presented at the third and final research co-ordination meeting of the CRP.
