The CEO Foot-Tap Index is a financial thriller set in a world where behavioral finance meets invasive surveillance capitalism. Dubbed the Foot-Tap Index, the discovery initially seems like a quirky academic insight, but its predictive power attracts the attention of hedge funds, data brokers, and private intelligence firms eager to weaponize human behavior for profit.
As the Index spreads across Wall Street and beyond, it triggers a behavioral arms race. Firms begin using AI to scrape, model, and simulate executive behavior, creating black-box algorithms capable of predicting-and manipulating-market reactions based on subconscious tells. The surveillance escalates into predictive psychometrics, where leaders are judged not on results, but on how readable, compliant, or stable their nervous systems appear under pressure. Elliot and his allies-Priya, Dev, and Saskia-form a resistance, leaking models, building counter-algorithms, and ultimately exposing the darkest system of all: the Trapdoor Index, a model built to identify and preemptively silence those likely to confess dangerous truths.
The novel ends with the collapse of behavioral signal trading, driven by global pushback, whistleblowers, and the spread of behavioral camouflage technologies. As markets grow blind to real human emotion, the world begins to recover its right to uncertainty, vulnerability, and authentic expression. Elliot fades into quiet anonymity, his legacy not the model he built, but the movement it sparked: a reminder that the most valuable truths are the ones that cannot be priced.
