No Ground is a surreal and introspective exploration of identity, perception, and transformation, beginning with a single impossible event: an unnamed protagonist falls from the sky-and keeps falling. There is no ground, no resistance, no explanation. What begins as panic soon gives way to profound introspection, as the protagonist confronts not just the mechanics of their descent, but the collapsing boundaries of memory, identity, and time itself. The fall becomes a framework through which the protagonist begins to unravel the illusions that once defined their sense of self.
As the descent deepens, the protagonist passes through dreamscapes, echoes of alternate lives, symbolic structures, and fragments of past selves-each revealing forgotten truths and buried emotions. Encounters with mirrored versions of themselves, archetypal figures, and manifestations of memory force them to confront shame, longing, grief, and the fragile beauty of human connection. The sky becomes a reflection of inner reality, and the fall becomes a sacred rite of passage. Over time, falling itself loses meaning, replaced by stillness, clarity, and integration. The protagonist is not healed in the traditional sense-but they are made whole through the recognition and acceptance of all they have been.
By the end, the fall is no longer necessary. The protagonist steps beyond the need for movement, for becoming, for striving-and lets go of falling itself. What remains is not a destination, but presence: a soft, luminous awareness of being. No Ground is not about survival, salvation, or answers. It is about surrender, the unraveling of illusion, and the gentle, terrifying truth that we are already home-even in freefall.
