The objective of this study was to manage burnout and emotional intelligence in collaborators of teachers of the Centro Regional de Educación Normal Dr. Gonzalo Aguirre Beltrán in situations of high work demand, as well as to analyze their levels of emotional intelligence and burnout, and the impact of an intervention program oriented to emotional management. A nested concurrent mixed design with qualitative predominance was used. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and the TMMS-24 were used, as well as techniques such as the emotional diary, stress mapping, identification of automatic thoughts and diaphragmatic breathing. The sample consisted of 14 participants, considering only teachers for the analysis. The results made it possible to identify levels of burnout and emotional intelligence, as well as processes of recognition, understanding and emotional regulation, in addition to various coping strategies in the face of work-related stress. It is concluded that the strengthening of emotional intelligence through psychoeducational interventions can contribute to stress management and burnout prevention in the teaching field.
