Rediscover the colorful world of professional wrestling in Wisconsin during 1950 when wrestlers worked virtually every day of the week all year long. Line-ups and results of well over 400 mat cards from around the state are included, as well as information on the wrestlers themselves, the venues they fought in, the promoters and booking offices. The most comprehensive ring record of one of professional wrestling's best light-heavyweights, Gypsy Joe Dorsetti, is included as well. 1950 was a great year for professional wrestling in Wisconsin with cards held in the biggest arenas, in high school gyms, the numerous Eagle clubs and halls and National Guard armories. Straight wrestlers like Lou Thesz, Billy Goelz and the first appearances of Verne Gagne kept the respect of the sportswriters. And characters like Gypsy Joe, Mighty Atlas, Hans Schmidt, Gorgeous George kept the interest of the fans.
