Subplot: Sally is getting restless, knowing that Shiona will leave one day to be with Dean, that her mother needs her more than ever after their father's suicide. She sees her dreams of studying theatre and song in Dublin becoming something will never be fulfilled. She also discovers her own feelings for Shamus that she had never thought about until he was gone. She also realises that with Shamus in Dublin who will deal with Herrin & Colley's mischievous plots if she doesn't. She decides to take her mother for a weekend break to the waters of Lough Leane and talk out all her desires. In the small hotel mother and daughter bond in life.
