Once exposed to TBI, the family and partner normally take on the unrewarding role of caregiver, never considering for a second that they don't have any formal training. Diving headfirst into a situation they know very little about, they may find themselves in the deep end, having bitten off more than they can chew.
I wrote this book to help enlighten the informal-caregiving family about what they can expect. You will find tips on making things easier for both of you. You will have a better understanding of how they feel and why they behave the way they do.
Learn about therapy and why it's so important that they attend all those sessions.
Are support groups for you? Learn more about them and how they can help you all to let off some steam without resorting to the boxing ring. Confused by the language the doctors are speaking? Don't be. Our layperson's explanations of the Neuro terminology will help you understand their language. Those blank stares will be something of the past.
