The Starborn were returning.
They could see beyond the limits of time.
They could feel the cosmic currents that no one else perceived.
They could hear the whispers of a war that had never ended.
And when they looked up at the sky, they didn't see stars.
They saw a battlefield.
The Forgotten and the Last Horizon
Then-the Watchers vanished.
The silent enforcers of the Lock, the unseen forces keeping humanity contained, simply left.
And in their absence, something older awoke.
It was never about the Lock.
