El viaje comienza explorando las primeras ideas de inteligencia artificial, mucho antes de que existiera el término. Desde los mitos de autómatas que poblaban la imaginación de los antiguos griegos hasta las máquinas de cálculo de Babbage, se descubre cómo la humanidad siempre soñó con crear inteligencias distintas a la suya. Luego, la obra entra en el siglo XX, cuando pioneros como Alan Turing comenzaron a preguntarse si una máquina podía realmente pensar. Con ello nacen los primeros modelos de cómputo y los experimentos que sembraron las semillas de la AI.
Más adelante se revelan los fundamentos esenciales de la inteligencia artificial: qué significa que una máquina aprenda, cómo funcionan las redes neuronales, qué son los algoritmos de aprendizaje profundo y por qué hoy la AI parece tan inteligente. Todo se explica con ejemplos claros y un lenguaje accesible que permite entender la complejidad sin perder rigor.

El libro también examina los distintos enfoques y arquitecturas de la AI: desde el simbolismo clásico hasta el conexionismo actual, desde los métodos estadísticos hasta la inteligencia generativa. Aquí el lector entenderá cómo cada línea de investigación abrió caminos distintos, algunos exitosos, otros fallidos, pero todos aportando a lo que hoy usamos.
