Mechatronics focuses on the engineering of electronic, mechanical and computer systems. It is a multidisciplinary branch of engineering that comprises the skill sets required in the advanced automated industry, by building simpler and smarter systems. Mechatronics combines concepts from the fields of mechanics and electronics. It also includes telecommunications, systems engineering, control engineering and product engineering. It intends to produce a design solution that unifies each of these various subfields. Mechatronics is used in machine vision, automation and robotics, sensing and control systems, automotive engineering, computer-aided design, mechatronics systems, transportation and vehicular systems, and microcontrollers and microprocessors. The ever growing need of advanced technology is the reason that has fueled the research in this field in recent times. This book strives to provide a fair idea about mechatronics and to help develop a better understanding of the latest advances within this field.
