This course booklet on mechanical manufacturing processes, enriched with practical examples, is aimed primarily at first-year students at preparatory institutes in the technology stream, as well as those in applied degrees in mechanical engineering and higher institutes of technological studies. It provides an introduction to the fundamentals of materials shaping, a key branch of engineering science and technology, for optimum preparation for entrance examinations to engineering schools. Designed in strict compliance with the official syllabus of the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the book guides students step-by-step in the discovery of metal fabrication techniques: from forging to casting, welding, powder metallurgy and sheet metal working. A chapter on polymers also covers various forming processes (injection, extrusion, thermocompression, etc.).
