The Step 7 section discusses the file and data structure of the platform and gives examples of different routines. All of the 12 programming exercises from the Multi-Platform book are answered using Step 7. Examples of input and output structures, sequences and faults are provided,
The TIA Portal section describes the differences between Step 7 and TIA Portal, providing examples of various common system functions for mode control.
