The book is a how to teach arithmetic and mathematics focusing on teaching fraction rules starting in 4th or 5th grade. The book is written to help prepare students presently in college to become effective elementary arithmetic teacher and secondary mathematics teachers before they enter the classroom for the first time. Using the rules and procedures to solve a wide variety of arithmetic fraction problems which should be learned and remembered prior to entering an algebra 1 class, the same rules and procedures taught in arithmetic classes are used to solve/simplify rational expression problems in Algebra, solve identities in Pre-Calculus, and find the limits for problems in Calculus. The rules never change the problems simply become more challenging.
