The work explores the growing need for efficient, eco friendly energy storage systems driven by the global energy crisis and the rise of renewable technologies. It compares conventional capacitors, batteries, and supercapacitors, highlighting the advantages of pseudocapacitive metal oxides over electric double layer materials. The study focuses on synthesizing Co3O4, Mn3O4, and MnCo2O4 thin films through potentiostatic and galvanostatic electrodeposition, analyzing their structure, morphology, and electrochemical behavior. MnCo2O4 consistently delivers superior capacitance due to synergistic redox activity, though stability varies with deposition mode. A symmetric supercapacitor device using MnCo2O4 electrodes is fabricated with KOH and PVA KOH electrolytes, demonstrating promising energy density and cycling performance. The work concludes that MnCo2O4 is a strong candidate for scalable, high performance supercapacitor applications.
