This book stems from a simple yet unsettling observation: we live in an age of extraordinary knowledge and increasingly fragile certainties. Science has dramatically expanded our view of the universe, life, and the mind, but in doing so has revealed its own limitations; religions, for their part, continue to offer powerful answers regarding the meaning and value of existence, but often at the cost of dogmas that struggle to engage with the contemporary world. In this open space-sometimes unsettling, sometimes fruitful-the need for a spirituality without dogmas takes shape.
The path proposed here does not start from a theory, nor from a new doctrine disguised as modernity. It starts from primary experience: from the inescapable fact that each of us experiences the world, ourselves, and others even before interpreting them. Before beliefs, there is experience; before explanations, there is feeling. It is from here that all authentic spirituality originates, and it is here that this book chooses to return, with a secular, open, and rigorous perspective.
Throughout the chapters, the reader is guided through a progressive journey: from subjective experience to the limits of objective observation, from the problem of dogmas-both religious and scientific-to the value of doubt as a form of intellectual honesty. Science is not set against spirituality, but freed from the claim to be the sole source of meaning; similarly, spirituality is freed from the need to be grounded in revealed and untouchable truths. Both, when they become rigid, betray their original calling: to understand reality, not to dominate it.
A central role is assigned to the findings and open questions of modern science, particularly quantum physics, not as a reservoir of consolatory metaphors, but as a field of research that has undermined the idea of a purely mechanical universe separate from the observer. It is within this context that the hypothesis of a field of consciousness is situated, understood not as a definitive truth, but as an interpretive model capable of relating experience, mind, and reality without resorting to obligatory transcendences. A hypothesis that does not demand adherence, but invites exploration.
The thread running through the entire book is freedom: freedom from the need for absolute certainties, freedom to think without having to believe, freedom to dwell on questions rather than closing them off too quickly. But this freedom is neither escapism nor superficial relativism. It is a demanding freedom, one that calls for individual responsibility, for an ethics without otherworldly rewards, for a spirituality lived as a daily practice of presence and participation in the world.

Rather, it proposes a way of walking: understanding instead of saving oneself, living with questions instead of silencing them, remaining faithful to experience even when it unsettles us.
