The relevance of knowledge management in project management and, consequently, the difficulties of establishing parameters and routines for the continuity and perpetuation of information generated in project management, is the focus of this study. The application of organisational knowledge management in corporate project management as a competitive advantage presents the individual as a fundamental part of organisations and the knowledge process in its cultural and social aspects. Knowledge management is one of the main elements of the entire management process and, as such, it should be taken into account that the formation of this element comes from various sources such as experience, values, information and always within the context of the organisation or project to be managed. The information generated in projects establishes a knowledge base, which, when well applied, improves processes, reducing costs and adding value to the business by consolidating and distributing knowledge to all participants and stakeholders in projects, especially future projects, strategically transforming it into a competitive advantage.
