The present manuscript, a doctoral thesis presented at the University of Malaga, Spain, aims to characterize a type of tourism proposed by the Public University, which is not limited, as is generally the case in practice, to the simple contemplation of natural or cultural assets. What it aspires to, in opposition to this idea, is the effective interaction of ecotourists with these goods through actions that involve knowledge.
