Image Registration (IR) is a fundamental technique in computer vision and image processing, enabling the alignment of images from different viewpoints, time instances, or sensing modalities. This book provides a comprehensive exploration of IR, with a special focus on multisensor satellite imagery and its role in applications such as environmental monitoring and global change analysis.It outlines the theoretical foundations and challenges of multisensor and multi-temporal data, where variations in illumination, resolution, and sensor characteristics complicate accurate alignment. A key contribution is a novel feature-matching approach using an Improved Harris Corner Detector (IHCD) and a multiobjective optimization framework based on angle and distance criteria. The method is evaluated using metrics such as Feature Matching Accuracy (FMA) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), demonstrating improved performance over existing techniques.
